She began playing golf from a young age and she became the youngest golfer to be selected for the US Women's Open at the age of 12 years old in 2007. While she did not win, in 2007 she won the Aldila Junior Classic and became the second. As well as becoming the most youthful American Junior Golf Association, (AJGA) winner of the award that year, she was also the youngest golfer to take home the Westfield Junior PGA Championship.
